Jan DUTKIEWICZ (1911-1983), "Summer Landscape," 1973

oil, cardboard, 29.5 x 42 cm, signed p.d.: J. Dutkiewicz / 1973 On the back stamps and information of the Provincial Office in Katowice about the permission for export abroad from 1978. The painting was purchased directly from Jan Dutkiewicz.

Painter, student of Pautsch and Kamocki at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, associated with the Silesian artistic community since 1945. In 1950-1977 he was head of the painting studio of the Cracow branch of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. Dutkiewicz's work is dominated by issues of color, in formal and spatial solutions the artist readily refers to the work of Cezanne. He introduces vivid, saturated colors into his landscapes, which freely describe the dynamic, somewhat angular forms of objects.
