The decoration was introduced in 1920 to commemorate the achievements of General Józef Haller's Blue Army volunteers. This version of the decoration is mounted on a post with a cap.
According to the order of the Minister of Military Affairs No. 100/17 March 1925, soldiers could only wear the decoration on their pockets.
