Erna Rosenstein was a visionary and - like Arthur Rimbaud - believed that looking inside oneself was more important than following reality:
"I closed my eyes - I want to see
I plugged my ears - I want to hear.
I took a pencil - let the road guide me.
I look for a word for the mute.
I want to touch."

The artist viewed the creative process as a completely free action,
intuitive and irrational.
