Small repetitions of two of the four quadriga horses that are raised on the front of the Basilica of San Marco in Venice. The horses, each 1.60 meters tall, on San Marco date back to antiquity and were erected in the mid-13th century; their origin is still unclear today. Smaller cast copies were produced as Grand Tour objects, each with the hooves on capitals, corresponding to the large originals. Beautiful, shiny light brown patina. (1411562) (1) (11)
