Marek SIERPIŃSKI
1954 Warsaw – 2014 Warsaw
Sculptor, painter, printmaker. In 2011, he graduated from the European Academy of Arts, Department of Painting, with a major in the studio of Professor A. Fałat. He also earned a diploma in sculpture and printmaking under Prof. R. Osadczy as part of an additional program. He has been sculpting since 1975, initially working primarily in wood. Since 1980, he has exhibited his sculptures in both solo and group shows, both in Poland and abroad, depicting figures frozen in a moment, in a gesture symbolizing the emotional states of individuals and couples. In his sculpture, he was often drawn to the themes of feminine beauty, motherhood, and relationships between couples. Later in life, he focused primarily on printmaking and painting. Many prestigious awards designed by Marek Sierpiński were crafted in his studio, such as the annual “Dea Awards” for excellence in advertising, the “Golden Clown” statuettes for the International Circus Arts Festival, the “Golden Spinning Top” award for performers at the Przystanek Woodstock Festival, the statuette for Aneta Kręglicka’s Miss World Foundation, the “Popcorn Microphone,” the statuette for the GSM+ awards, the statuette for the Nationale-Nederlanden awards, the “Child of the Fourth Republic of Poland” statuette, and many others.
