The artist graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow in 1937, at the same time he became associated with the local artistic community centered in the circle of the "Young Visual Artists" group. The offered pastel, comes from the early period of the painter, poet and music lover. In the composition one can see tendencies alluding to French surrealism and abstractionism painting, with which directions in art Boguslaw Szwacz had the opportunity to get acquainted during the exhibition organized in the Palace of Art in Cracow, which took place in 1946, and during his stay on a scholarship in France in 1947, when he made acquaintance with Fernand Léger, among others.
The artist's composition from the 1940s and 1950s is characterized by sublime color and intense but uncluttered contours giving an almost musical rhythm to his paintings. In 2016, it was possible to get acquainted with the painter's works during an exhibition at the Poznan gallery titled: Only Abstraction Counts. Works from the 1940s and 1950s.
