The work presented in the catalog, "Hel - Village Street" from 1920, shows a fragment of the main street of Hel, with a characteristic row of cottages with white walls with black beams and red roof tiles. The work is undoubtedly a great rarity both in museum collections and on the art market. Soter Jaxy-Malachowski's work is primarily atmospheric shots of sea shores, with expansive beaches and rough waves. The artist visited the Polish coast almost every year since the 1920s, coming to the Gulf of Gdansk and the Hel Peninsula. The fruit of these numerous trips were landscapes from the Polish Baltic Sea. There are many depictions from Hel with dominant views of the seashore with Hel fishing boats. Also known are compositions with returning fishermen from fishing. Works with staffage appear extremely rarely in Jaxa's work. The painter focused primarily on depicting nature.
