Between 1922 and 1928 he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow with Władysław Jarocki and Ignacy Pieńkowski. He painted primarily portraits, landscapes and architectural motifs. He also created linocuts. In 1945, he moved from Chelm to Gliwice. There he took up a job at the museum as a conservator. However, he continued to paint and participated in exhibitions.
