Set of two autographs of the prominent Russian conductor and composer Alexander Vasilievich Gauk, accompanied by his photographs.The top card contains a dedication and signature, dated May 18, 1959, Prague. The bottom card includes a fragment of musical notation and a signature. Gauk was the first principal conductor of the USSR State Radio Symphony Orchestra, also serving as a teacher and shaping several generations of Soviet conductors, including Rudolf Barshai and Evgeny Svetlanov. His interpretations of Russian classical music, including works by Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky, and Shostakovich, are considered reference standards.
This set is a rare testimony to his career and connections to Prague.
