Katarzyna Adamiak-Jaśnikowska (born 1985), On the Other Side, 2017

oil, canvas, 60 x 50 cm, signed p.d.: K. Adamiak' and described on the back: 'KATARZYNA ADAMIAK-JAŚNIKOWSKA | "On the other side" | April, 2017'.

Graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroslaw. In her works she focuses mainly on the human being, often reaching for inspiration from Renaissance painting. The space depicted in the painter's paintings, however, is not a purely realistic convention. We can also find in it a rich metaphorical world, full of an atmosphere of mystery and ambiguity. The second subject the painter willingly undertakes is landscape. It emanates the tranquility of empty space, almost devoid of any form of existence. Sometimes there are only forms in this landscape that suggest something as if organic, biological. The painter has managed to create her own way of showing space and perceiving the subject of the works, escaping clear belonging to any of the styles. Finalist in painting competitions, she has been awarded more than once. Works in private collections at home and abroad.
