Literature
"Doctor, scientist, social activist, independent woman of great courage.
Hanna Hirszfeldowa, née Kasman, is a great figure.
Born in 1884, she was able, as a woman, to overcome all barriers to acquiring medical knowledge and practicing both her scientific career and treating patients, especially children.
History did not spare her. The misfortunes she experienced she was able to transform for the good of science.
Hanna Hirszfeld's biography is an all-too-unbelievably positive one.
I chose her person to be the heroine of the portrait and tried very hard to show at least a fraction of the respect and admiration I have for her."
