Henri Bacher was a French painter and graphic artist working in the first half of the 20th century. He studied at the Strasbourg School of Decorative Arts, and later trained in Paris and Rome. His work is closely linked to Alsatian and Lorraine culture, religious themes and folk art. Bacher was known for his book illustrations, woodcuts and bookplates. His work is influenced by German Romanticism and the Rhenish Renaissance.
