Biography
He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków and at the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Offenbach am Main. He lives and works in Kraków and Szczecin. He is a painter and creator of collages and installations. In his works, he explores a wide spectrum of topics: from modernist utopias, the history of the avant-garde, and architecture to contemporary music and sociology. He grounds the diverse styles and themes of his work in conceptual reflection.
Since 2014, he has been teaching at the Academy of Art in Szczecin, and since 2020, he has held the position of associate professor. He was a resident at Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin (2011) and SOArt in Austria (2013). He received a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in 2008. From 2007 to 2019, he collaborated with the ŻAK I BRANICKA Gallery. He has held over a dozen solo exhibitions, including at: the Foksal Gallery in Warsaw (2021), the Salzburger Kunstverein in Salzburg (2009); the Bunkier Sztuki Contemporary Art Gallery in Kraków (2008); the Art Stations Foundation in Poznań (2009); the Polish Institute in Berlin (2012); and Art Basel Statements in Basel (2009). His works have been presented in dozens of group exhibitions at institutions such as: the National Museum in Kraków; the National Museum in Szczecin; MAXXI in Rome; the Skulpturenmuseum Glaskasten in Marl; the Arnold Schönberg Center in Vienna; Sean Kelly Gallery in New York; MOCAK in Kraków; and Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin.
