Janusz Rafał Głowacki—associate professor at Jan Długosz University in
Częstochowa, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts, where he leads a painting studio
in the Department of Painting. From 1978 to 1981, he studied Interior Architecture at
the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, and then, from 1981 to 1985, continued
his education at the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the same university, specializing in
printmaking. He defended his diploma thesis in the studio of Prof. Andrzej Pietsch.
The artist has an extensive exhibition record—he has organized 40 solo exhibitions
and has participated in over 180 group exhibitions in Poland and abroad
abroad. His works have been exhibited, among other places, in Japan, Brazil, Germany, France,
Belgium, Sweden, Italy, and the United States. He has participated in numerous
national and international competitions, winning numerous awards and
honorable mentions.
Janusz Rafał Głowacki’s work revolves around the issues of pictorial structure,
the repetitiveness of forms, and the tension between intuition and intellect.
