Włodzimierz BŁOCKI (1885-1921)
Polish painter and printmaker active in Lviv. Studied in 1904-1910 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, under the direction of Leon Wyczółkowski, Konstanty Laszczka and Józef Pankiewicz. In 1914 he spent time in Paris and Munich, during which time he came under the influence of the French Impressionists. Wlodzimierz Blocki lived and worked in Lviv, and gained considerable popularity as a portrait and landscape painter. He also painted genre and symbolic scenes and nudes. He used oil, watercolor and pastel techniques. He also practiced printmaking, creating etchings, aquatints and lithographs.
