An old historical work based on the manuscripts of Bishop J. Albertrandi, edited by Ż. Onacewicz. The book describes the reigns of two 16th-century Polish rulers and includes additional memoirs and primary source accounts. It covers the brief reign of Henry of Valois and the reign of Stefan Batory. Onacewicz, the author of the study, was a Polish historian, bibliophile, editor, and professor of history at the Imperial University of Vilnius.
