MORAWSKI Kazimierz Marjan
SOURCE OF THE PARTITION OF POLAND
PICTURES AND SKETCHES FROM THE SASANIAN AND STANISLAVIC ERAS
This work, whose guiding thesis was the view of the inspirational role of Freemasonry in the partition of Poland, aroused wide applause in Catholic-nationalist circles (especially Jędrzej Giertych), but also controversy not only for ideological but for scientific reasons (among others. Adam Skałkowski and Marian Kukiel); in fact, it was an essay written in an exquisite rococo stylized style, based on hypotheses, and even a prominent historian associated with the national camp, Wladyslaw Konopczynski, reproached M. for turning conjectures too categorically into certainties. In the 1930s, M. concentrated entirely on the fight against Freemasonry.
