Biography
He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań (1994–1999). He earned his diploma in Prof. Jerzy Kałucki’s painting studio. He currently lives and works in Warsaw. Rogalski practices figurative painting, though he also works with photography and video. His painting style is very modern—in constructing his image of reality, he readily draws on the aesthetics of photography and cropped shots, or applies overlapping layers as in film editing. He does this with absolute sensitivity, leaving room for contemplation, vision, and mystery. He paints in a traditional manner, using oil paints on canvas. Rogalski’s spectacularly flourishing artistic career clearly demonstrates that if an artist does not lack perseverance and faith in the meaning of their own work, true talent will be noticed and appreciated. Today, Rogalski is one of the “hottest” and most recognizable names in contemporary Polish art. His paintings are sold at prestigious art fairs in Miami, Florida; Paris; Vienna; and Basel, and from there they find their way into European and American collections.
