Eugene (Eugène) Zak - painter and illustrator associated with the École de Paris circle. Born in 1884 (near Minsk), raised in Warsaw. From 1903 he lived mainly in Paris; he studied at private academies and exhibited at the Salon d'Automne and Salon des Indépendants, among others. In 1911-1913 and after 1922, he also stayed in Poland, influencing the younger generation of artists (links to the Rhythm grouping). His recognizable style combines soft, linear styling with a lyrical mood, often in Arcadian scenes and delicate landscapes.
He died in 1926 in Paris. Zak's works are in museum collections in Poland and abroad.
