Biography
After graduating from the Polish Maciej Szkolny Gymnasium in Cieszyn, he studied at the Zakopane School of Wood Industry (1902-1904), and later studied at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts under Professor Józef Mehoffer (1904-1908). He supplemented his studies in Paris - with the famous Julien and in the studio of Fernand Cormon at the École des beaux-arts (1908-1910). In Istebna, Andziołówka, you can visit the Jan Walach Biographical Museum, run by the artist's daughter, Barbara Walach.
