PUSŁOWSKI - MOSZYŃSKA. Set of 7 medium plates with the Szeliga and Nałęcz coats of arms.
Intertwined two coats of arms surmounted by a crown(Pusłowski family of Szeliga coat of arms, Moszyńska family of Nałęcz coat of arms).
Porcelain, enamel paints. Signature: "E.Bourgeois Grand Depot 21 Rue Drout. Paris" (19th c.) 7 plates diam: 22.5 cm each.
The set of plates was originally part of a custom-made dinner service, as evidenced by the painted coats of arms. The set belonged to the Puslowski family - Zygmunt Puslowski coat of arms Szeliga (1848-1913), owner of numerous estates in Lithuania and the Crown (including the Puslowski Palace in Krakow), collector and prominent art expert. On 1870 he married Maria Moszyńska, coat-of-arms Nałęcz (1848-1913), daughter of Piotr, former Marshal of the nobility of the Volyn Governorate, councillor of the city of Kraków, etc., and Anna, née Malmowska, h. Ślepowron. On the underside of each plate a circular signature: "Fabrication Anglaise / Faiences Porcelaines Cristaux / Grand Depot / E.Bourgeois / 21 Rue Drout / Paris / 33 Rue S. Fereol / Marseille." Imprint: "Cauldon" or "Cauldon Place England" and a diamond-shaped imprint and in it: "R IV 23 H C ?". The porcelain manufactory of Emile Bourgeois (1832-1926), was founded in 1863, operated in Paris and Marseille, and is well known and highly regarded worldwide. Used, not rubbed, one plate with loss of glaze on edges (in 2 places), on others - on bottom not spotted blemishes. Good condition. 9909/94
