Graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, Faculty of Painting and Graphic Arts, majoring in Painting. Diploma in 2007 in the studio of Prof. Maciej Swieszewski. Marta Julia Piórko's paintings are evocative visions accompanied by an aura of subtle anxiety. Thanks to the combination of convincing, realistic technique with pop surrealist narration, she has created a unique style. The disturbing atmosphere of melancholy, rich symbolism, grotesque representations, human-animal figures bring to mind the Fairy Tales of the Brothers Grimm or Alice in Wonderland. The artist leads the viewer through an enchanted forest of her emotions enchanted into painterly tales.
