Lupicaia has long confirmed its position among the most important producers of Supertoscans. With a history dating back to Etruscan times and an important moment in its development when Prince Poniatowski was the owner, Lupicaia is today an exciting source of top-quality wine.
The estate enjoys an excellent terroir, where the mix of suitable soils, climate and proximity to the Mediterranean Sea create fantastic conditions for viticulture.
2013 is an exceptionally successful vintage for the region. The 2013 Lupicaia beautifully expresses the rustic, herbaceous character of the region. The currant and cherry notes here are pleasantly smoky, the dry and herbal smoke nicely cuts through the fruity sweetness. The finish is long, elegant and strongly dry. The wine has at least a few more years of evolution ahead of it.
