Vyacheslav Grytsay. Born on December 18, 1964 in the city of Poltava. Graduate of Dnipropetrovsk State Higher School of Fine Arts (1985); Kharkiv Institute of Art and Industry (1993). Specialty teachers: E. Bykov, O. Pronin, A. Khmelnitsky. Painter. He created canvases on modern themes and Ukrainian history, paying great attention to biblical themes. He has a humorous view of history and modernity. His early period is characterized by a tendency towards the history of the Scythosarmatian period; his mature outlook focuses on the figurative language of the Baroque. He successfully transforms the traditions of the Russian Baroque into contemporary painting. Decorativeness is combined with naive realism, characteristic of ancient Slavs and motifs of African spontaneous compositions. The canvases are saturated with illogical interpretation of space, complex symbolism, dynamic movement, transmission of internal tension and implantation of images into the spatial environment. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1999). Member of the Kyiv group "Neon-neon" (1990s). Participated in republican and international exhibitions (since 1991). Main works: "One-armed Shaw" (1991), "Still Life No. 4" (1992), "Landscape with a Flutist" (1992), "Portrait" (1993), "In the Marshal's Coat of Arms" ( 1996). Works are in the galleries "Gulfstream" (Donetsk), "Rubens" (Venice, Italy), Kaliningrad Art Gallery (Russian Federation).
