Waldemar Jerzy Marszałek (born in Dobrzyca near Koszalin in 1960) studied at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Gdańsk in the Printmaking Studio of Prof. J. Krechowicz (graduated in 1985). After graduation, he began teaching at his alma mater (he was an assistant to Prof. C. Paszkowski in the Printmaking Studio and served as an assistant professor there until he earned his postdoctoral degree). He has been associated with Triada since the mid-1990s. For many years, he practiced lithography and graphic design. Since 1994, he has focused primarily on painting and drawing. He has held approximately thirty solo exhibitions and participated in dozens of group exhibitions in Poland and abroad. In 2005, Waldemar J. Marszałek celebrated the 20th anniversary of his creative work. In October 2006, he held a major retrospective exhibition at the BWA in Olsztyn, accompanied by the publication of a catalog.
