Tomasz BALIK (b. 1989), Fury in Gray, 2017

Acrylic, canvas, 70 x 100 cm, signed on the back. The painting was part of the exhibition: "From the perspective of memories: my first impression of art".

Born in 1989, he was born and still lives in Krakow. From 2009 to 2014 he studied at the Pedagogical University and the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow.
In 2014, he completed an artistic and scientific residency at the HfG (Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung) in Karlsruhe, Germany.
An independent artist, he is not permanently affiliated with any cultural institution. His passion for art does not end only with painting. He is also involved in sculpture, drawing and digital photography.
He has participated in group exhibitions, including:
- exhibition in the Gardens of the Archaeological Museum accompanying the Science Festival in Krakow 2015.
- "Waiting for the wind" exhibition at the SOLVAY Center for Contemporary Art in Krakow in 2020.
In 2023, together with curator Dr. Zofia szczęsna (ASP Kraków), he prepared for a wider audience his first solo exhibition "From the perspective of memories. My first impression of art" at W Przyziemiu Gallery in Krakow.
His work deals with the nature of animals, which he depicts in a variety of representations. His works can be found in private collections in Poland, Germany, the US and Switzerland.
