Biography
Polish artist, diplomat, and professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He graduated from the Department of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw under Prof. Halina Chrostowska and Prof. Jerzy Tchórzewski (1979). During martial law, he was active in the independent cultural movement. In 1986, he was awarded the Bronze Medal at the 1st Asia-Europe International Art Biennale in Ankara. After graduating, he created dynamic and symbolic paintings in the spirit of New Expressionism. In 1987, he began teaching at his alma mater. The artist has presented his paintings at over 20 solo exhibitions as well as nearly 100 group exhibitions in Poland and abroad. These included the International Painting Festival in Cagnes-sur-Mer (1987) and the exhibitions “Freshly Painted” (1988) and “What of the Artist in Troubled Times” (1990) at the Zachęta Gallery in Warsaw. The artist’s works are held in private and museum collections in Poland, Germany, Spain, the U.S., Canada, Belgium, and Argentina.
