"Arrangement LV/111" is a strictly symmetrical composition with a clearly marked center. Pairs of slats, coming out of the corners, intersect in the center, creating an opening in the form of a rhombus. This rhombus is a kind of frame for the indentation imprinted in the canvas. The artist also used two types of black here - glossy and matte.
"The second type of solutions used is the introduction of a regular arrangement of elements. These are often compositions familiar from the tradition of geometric abstraction: a square within a square, an isosceles cross within a square, a square cut by diagonals, etc. The elements that build up such arrangements are usually not painted on the canvas, but superimposed on the starting plane as elements. Often, too, they are matted in contrast. This causes them to react differently to incident light rays.
Therefore, a regular, static compositional arrangement comes alive, becomes visually variable. These works can be considered a kind of dialogue and polemic with the tradition of geometric abstraction, which usually valued the unambiguity of artistic solutions" (Grzegorz Sztabiński, Facing the center - in search of the meaning of composition in Mieczysław Wiśniewski's paintings, [in:] Mieczysław Wiśniewski.
