Jan Naliwajko
(b. 1938)
Studied at an art college in Vilnius. In the 1960s he stayed in Warsaw, associating at that time with a group of young artists organizing independent art exhibitions in the Barbican and other places in the Old Town between 1963 and 1967. Naliwajko has lived and worked in Sweden since the 1960s. He works in painting, printmaking and sculpture. In his figurative art he combines fantastic, symbolic and erotic themes, giving his compositions an unsettling mood. His works are also characterized by rich colors and dynamism. He has exhibited in France, Switzerland and the USA, among other countries.
