Biography
Jacek Andrzej Rossakiewicz, born in 1956, was educated at the University of Warsaw, where he studied psychology. In the 1980s, he began to paint and also to deal with art theory. Inspired by current events and what was happening in his immediate environment, he created numerous compositions on political and social themes that were often a criticism of the situation in the country. Religious paintings are an equally important part of his artistic output. His expressive "Dunkirk Passion," executed in 1990, is now in the collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Dunkirk. Rossakiewicz has exhibited his works in many shows at well-known galleries and museums, including the Zachęta Gallery in Warsaw and the Zderzak Gallery in Cracow.
