Graduated from the Faculty of Painting and Graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk. He is a member of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers and the International Artist Professional. In 2007 he received the Award of the President of the City of Gdansk for outstanding achievements in culture and art.
Eugeniusz Ochonko's work is situated on the border of fantastic realism and grotesque. The artist, based on precise drawing inspired by the workshop of the old masters, builds multi-layered compositions in which the real world intermingles with phantasmagoria and poetic vision of reality. Characteristic of his paintings are elaborate spatial structures, density of forms and the narrative, often symbolic nature of the representations.
He has presented his works at numerous national and international exhibitions, including "ART. GENDA 96" in Copenhagen, the "Presentation of Polish Art" at the Parliament of Bremen and exhibitions in Spain. Since 2008, he has been living and creating in Spain.
The artist's works are in many private collections in Poland and abroad, including the collection of Queen Sophia of Spain at the Palacio de la Zarzuela and Prince Albert II of Monaco.
