Wooden figure of Christ on the cross
Material and technique: wood, hand-carved.
Height: 25 cm
A wooden sculptural figure preserved as a torso, without both arms. It was originally polychromed, as evidenced by traces of red paint still visible, including at the site of the wound on the figure’s side.
Based on stylistic features, it can be assumed that the sculpture originates from the Tyrol region.
Condition: good. Visible signs of woodworm damage and surface soiling. The figure has not retained its complete form—both hands are missing, as is most of the original polychromy.
