Independent Poland was a military organization formed on November 1, 1939, by former members of the Polish Military Organization. In March 1942, it was incorporated into the Home Army. Its commander was Józef Suliński.
The badge was circular in shape. In the center was a shield featuring a crowned eagle perched on a mace; the letters “P” and “N” were placed on either side, and the date “1 XI 1939” was inscribed below. The version produced in 1984 was a reproduction made of bronze coated with pink enamel, unnumbered and mounted on a pin. Originally, the badge was designed and produced in mid-1942; it was made of bronze coated with amaranth enamel, numbered, and fastened with a smooth cap.
