Oskar Zięta Bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture at the Szczecin University of Technology (now the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin), 2000. Scholarship from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich, 2000–2001. Since 2003, research assistant at the Department of Architecture, in the CAAD (Computer-Aided Architectural Design) department at ETH. In 2011, he received his Ph.D. from that university. Since 2013, he has been a lecturer in the Department of Design at the SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities, School of Form, in Poznań. Founder and president of Zieta Prozessdesign, 2010. One of the most outstanding and internationally recognized Polish designers. A technologist and inventor, he is the creator of FiDU—a technique for spatially modeling sheet metal using compressed air or water. He applies this technique to striking pieces of furniture and other interior design elements, as well as large-scale sculptures, including: NAWA—Dali Island, Ostrów Tumski, Wrocław; WIR—Galeria Północna, Warsaw. Elements of his “Plopp” stool (2008) are part of the collection at the Centre Pompidou in Paris as one of twelve chairs that revolutionized contemporary design. Recipient of awards including: Design Preis Schweiz, 2008; Red Dot Design Award, 2008; Good Design Award, 2009; Materialica Design Award, 2009; German Design Council Award, 2009; Audi Mentor Award presented by A&W, 2011.
