Bernard Wicker - engraver active in France at the turn of the 20th century. His works decorated many small household objects. In his designs he drew on the works of great French and Italian masters, such as Nicolas Lancret and Pio Ricci.
Les Accordailles - historically, this word (used almost exclusively in the plural) means a solemn betrothal or ceremony where families set the terms of marriage and exchange promises. It derives from the ancient custom of "getting along" (fr. s'accorder) between two parties.
