Poderi Aldo Conterno was founded in 1961, when Aldo Conterno bought the Favot estate. Prior to this event, he and his brother Giacomo had managed the famous family estate for nearly 10 years. Aldo left over stylistic differences. While Giacomo wanted to continue his father's orthodox even classical line, Aldo considered himself a balanced modernist. He left and founded his own brand so he could mature wines in a combination of different barrels and flirt with the French school of winemaking. Aldo passed away in 2012. He passed away as one of the most important producers in the region. Today the estate is managed by his children: Franco, Stefano and Giacomo.
Bussiador is a fermented and barrel aged chardonnay. The deep color, entering gold, heralds ripe aromas, lots of barrel and gentle oxidation. Everything is indeed confirmed in the pear-, peach- and buttery brioche-based aroma and later, on the palate, which is creamy, smelling like toasted apple jam and roasted hazelnuts. Powerful, intense, distinctly barrel-aged, but extremely skillfully put together.
