Biography
Polish visual artist, sculptor, video maker. As a teenager she reprised the role of Majka Skowron in a TV series for teenagers in the 1970s. In 1980-87 she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She deals with themes of place, memory and time. She has participated in the Istanbul Biennale, Sydney, Sonsbeek, Liverpool, FOKUS ŁÓDŹ Biennale (2010), 54th Venice Biennale, among others. She has been the recipient of scholarships from MKiS in Warsaw, KulturKontakt in Vienna, ProHelvetia in Zurich and Pollock-Krasner in New York, and MKIDN in Warsaw, among others. In 1999 the award "Artistic Personality of the Year" of the CCA Warsaw, in 1998, 1999 and 2002 nominated for the Passport of Polityka. In 2003 she was a finalist for the Adi Prize Art. She is the creator of a fictional television about art "TV Studio" where she hosts an ART TALK SHOW with art people. In 2005 she established the "Art Local" Foundation to promote contemporary art. 2006 Best Gallery Presentation award at ViennAfair, Scholarship of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, within the framework of the Promotion of Creativity Program. Nominated for the "ART in the City" award, Brussels.
