2 zlote coins dated 1970, struck at the State Mint in Warsaw. The mintage of this variety remains unknown.
A distinctive variant of K112.B featuring a sharply pointed roof on the digit “7” in the date. Coins of this variety were struck in 1976 with the retroactive date “1970,” in aluminum with an increased magnesium content, class AlMg3.
The piece presented here is further distinguished by its Proof-Like finish, characterized by a distinct luster and mirror-like surface. NGC has confirmed this feature with the PL designation.
The piece is preserved in high mint condition, graded MS 64 PL by NGC.
The combination of the variant with the sharp roof of the number “7,” the unusual production history involving a backdated date, and the Proof-Like finish makes this coin a particularly interesting item for collectors of coin variants and circulation coins from the People’s Republic of Poland.
