Prof. Irena Lipska-Zworska, born in 1935, is one of the most famous and respected Polish artists - ceramists. Throughout her professional life she was associated with the E. Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, where she served, among other positions, as dean and head of the Department of Ceramics. Since 1992, she has been a full professor. She has been a member of ZPAP since 1962. She is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards and honors; in 2013 she received the Gloria Artis Gold Medal for Merit to Culture. In sculptural spatial compositions she uses all the possibilities offered by the material - clay, grog, red clay, colored clay, porcelain, stoneware, sometimes combined with other materials, such as glass. The originality of the shapes is emphasized by color and glaze.
