(Estr. Vol. 33). Volume Two covers laws from 1550–1609 enacted during the reigns of Sigismund Augustus, Henry of Valois, Stephen Báthory, and Sigismund III. Volumina Legum: The first Polish collection of statutory law, containing a record of all royal privileges and Sejm constitutions from 1347 to 1793 (the proceedings of the Grodno Sejm). This work was initiated by Józef Andrzej Załuski, Bishop of Kyiv. They began work on a chronological and complete edition of Polish laws. The first six volumes, containing laws enacted up to 1736, were compiled and published by the Piarist Stanisław Konarski. Volumes VII and VIII were published in 1782 by the Piarists. Volume IX was published in 1889 in Kraków by the Academy of Learning. Title page missing (shown here in reproduction); the next page is partially cut off; page 593/4 has a slight loss in the upper corner (with slight damage to the text and a slight fragment missing from the lower margin; traces of stains and moisture.
