One of the most important culinary manuals devoted to the vegetarian cuisine, which was published in the interwar period. Published as a joint work of the Tarnowski couple, the book was divided into several parts. In the first, Mrs. Tarnowska presents numerous recipes for vegetarian dishes: soups, fruit soups, sauces, vegetable dishes, potato dishes, grain dishes, pates, gruels, casseroles, salads, desserts, as well as main dishes. The author focuses on simplicity and availability of ingredients that can be easily obtained in Polish conditions. The recipes are presented in an accessible manner, allowing any housewife to prepare them easily at home. Meanwhile, the following chapters cover the chemical composition of foods and food products, how we digest foods, fermentation, fruits and hygiene in the kitchen.
