Rafał Olbiński (b. 1943). In 1969, he graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the Warsaw University of Technology. In 1981, he emigrated to the United States. He quickly made a name for himself in the local art scene and became known as an outstanding illustrator and painter. Since 1985, he has been a lecturer at the School of Visual Arts in New York. He also works in illustration, painting, poster design, and set design. He has earned immense recognition worldwide, and his posters and illustrations appear regularly in magazines such as Newsweek, Time, Business Week, The New York Times, and *The New Yorker*. He is a prolific artist with an extensive body of work. He has already created numerous posters for American opera companies (New York City Opera, Utah Opera, Pacific Opera San Francisco, Philadelphia Opera) and designed the set for a production of *Don Giovanni* in Philadelphia. His works have been featured in numerous exhibitions in the United States, Japan, France, Germany, and Poland.
