Biography
Polish cartoonist and humorist, creator of book illustrations, animated films, and advertisements. He studied economics and law at the University of Poznań, graduating in 1934. While a student, he made his debut as a caricaturist in the magazine “Ilustracja Polska” in 1932. During World War II, he went into hiding in Kraków and Nowy Targ; in 1947, he settled in Katowice, where he drew for "Dziennik Zachodni." In 1960, he participated in the production of animated films. He collaborated with daily and weekly newspapers: “Wróble na Dachu,” “Kocynder,” “Szpilki,” "Polska," "Świat," "Dziennik Zachodni," and "Express Wieczorny," where, for several decades starting in 1948, he published the comic strip series "Nasza Syrenka" (eight thousand drawings). Recipient of numerous awards, Knight of the Order of the Smile (1985).
