A second version of this composition is in the collection of the National Museum in Warsaw (Skiba pod zachód słońca, pastel, paper, inv. no. 183665 MNW.) This early work shows the artist's interest in Impressionism, in an interpretation familiar to him from the paintings of Józef Pankiewicz and Władysław Podkowiński. Rapacki often returned in his work to the motif of plowed fields or waterlogged roads torn up by cart wheels, which converge in the distance, disappearing on the horizon. According to Iwona Szustakiewicz, author of a catalog of the artist's works, Rapacki "created landscapes according to Witkiewicz's rules. Directly communing with nature, he painted it as he saw it, but also as he felt it, expressing his love for his native land." (Masters of Pastel. From Marteau to Witkacy: The Collection of the National Museum in Warsaw, cat. exhibition, ed. schol. Anna Grochala, National Museum in Warsaw, Warsaw 2015, p. 372)
