Diana Berg was born in Donetsk, Ukraine, where until 2014 she lived and worked as a graphic designer and teacher. After Maidan she become an activist and initiated a pro-ukrainian movement in Donetsk in the spring of 2014 before having to flee from her occupied hometown. After re-settling in Mariupol, an industrial town by the Azov sea close to the frontline, she founded Platform Tu – the centre for social change and the promotion of human rights and freedoms through arts and culture. Being the only grassroots movement in eastern Ukraine that promotes underground culture and modern art, through their initiatives they address the most acute social themes like gender inequality, discrimination, ultra-right radicalism, paternalism, refugees, totalitarian propaganda, and human rights and freedoms. Berg is the curator of art-exhibitions and art-residences in the Platform Tu centre and the leader of ther art-interventions, performances and public actions. Platform Tu has been covered throughout national (and international) media, as their activities draw the attention of nationalists, as Mariupol, being a frontline city, is dominated by ultra-radical ideology and militaristic rhetorics. They strongly believe that what works for culture works against the war. After the Russian invasion, she and others from Platfrom Tu were forced to leave Mariupol and the Platform Tu centre, where much of the work was lost.

Diana Berg urodziła się w Doniecku na Ukrainie, gdzie do 2014 roku mieszkała i pracowała jako grafik i nauczycielka. Po Majdanie, wiosną 2014 roku, została aktywistką i zainicjowała ruch proukraiński. Niedługo później musiała uciekać. Osiedliła się w Mariupolu, przemysłowym mieście nad Morzem Azowskim w pobliżu linii frontu. Założyła “Platformę Tu”– centrum przemian społecznych oraz promocji praw i wolności człowieka. Jest to jedyny ruch oddolny we wschodniej Ukrainie. Jego członkowie promują podziemną kulturę i sztukę współczesną. Poprzez swoje inicjatywy podejmują najbardziej palące tematy społeczne, takie jak nierówność płci, dyskryminacja, skrajnie prawicowy radykalizm, paternalizm, uchodźstwo, totalitarną propagandę oraz prawa i wolności człowieka. Berg jest kuratorką wystaw i rezydencji artystycznych w centrum Platformy Tu oraz liderką ich artystycznych interwencji, performansów i akcji publicznych. Opisywani byli przez wszystkie media krajowe (i międzynarodowe). Ich działania przyciągają uwagę nacjonalistów, gdyż Mariupol, jako miasto frontowe, zdominowany jest przez ultraradykalną ideologię i militarystyczną retorykę. Mocno wierzą, że to, co działa na rzecz kultury, działa przeciwko wojnie. Po inwazji rosyjskiej Berg i inne osoby z Platformy Tu zostały zmuszone do opuszczenia Mariupola. Większość prac zaginęła.
